Comments:Have some information on the upcoming memorial near Pittsburg for LT James Flannery, C Co KIA April 1970. A room at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA is dedicated to LT Flannery. His friends are enhancing the memorial and having a mural-like tribute prepared that will be dedicated on tentative weekend of April 21/22 2012. University officials will attend. Current commander of 2/34 Armor at Fort Riley may attend or send reps. Some C Co vets will likely attend. I'm sure any Dreadnaught vet is welcome to attend. For more info, send me an email.

Thanks to all involed in putting this together,a very well done job. After 43 years the info. on your site helped me to reconnect with Bill Ferry, John Romo, and Tom Moorehead. As long as the Good Lord allows us the gift of life , we should exercise the bond that exists between us , from all Companies and all the years that the 2/34th Armor - Dreadnaughts were deployed to Vietnam . Reach out to those who have not attended and encourage them to come to the next one.The Reunion was a success because of each and every one of the attendees , Veterans , Spouses , Children , and Grandchildren .God Bless you and keep you until we meet again . Comments:Time is drawing nigh for the Reunion . It appears that we will have around 230 attendees . The weather is projected to be 80 to 82 degrees for highs Thursday through Sunday next week , with lows in the 62 to 64 degree range .50% rain chance on Thursday ,30% Friday , none on Saturday . Usually 30% chance means no rain here . I hope that is the case for the cruise . I'm looking forward to seeing you all next week . Be safe. Rick Welch

Comments:It looks as if we are going to surpass the 200 mark , including spouses and guests . What I need to know is how many want to make one of the side trips , Fort Cambbell in Particular . I'll need to let Ltc O'Brien know so he can get our party through the gate with a minimum of delay . They usually don't give tours on weekends , but he said we would get a tour for us . As our brothers are deployed to Afghanistan , the 101st is in the process of coming home.God Bless them all . We will also need to know how many wish to go to Lynchburg to tour the Jack Daniels Distillery . Both trips are at least an hours drive from the Radisson .We'll have to buddy up as the trips are by POV.Stay safe and we'll see you in a short while. Richard C.( Rick ) Welch

Comments:I just received an update from Kristin Rohlf , who is handling our reservations at the Radisson for our Reunion. We have filled the original block of 70 rooms , so she is adding more to have them available for those of you who have not yet made reservations . The cut off date is April 26th , 2011 . Please get your registration forms to Lt Pat as soon as possible . We have a block of 140 Opry Tickets and if we need to reserve more , I need to speak for them as soon as possible. I don't want us to be short of tickets for the Opry , or The Music City Queen cruise . We need the count also for the banquet to insure that there are enough place settings and food. It won't be long until the Reunion , and I am looking forward to seeing you in Nashville. God Bless you all .Respectfully , Rick Welch

Comments:The saying that there are no free rides is definitely true . Gaylord is charging for shuttle service to just about everywhere . Some of their prices might make it less expensice to use cabs or in many cases , povs with car pooling to various locations by members who wish to see the same sights . I am contacting the Nashville Chamber of Commerce to see if they can help with obtaining discounts on transportation , car rentals , tours , etc. Gaylord might be competitive on some things and not on others . We want to get the most bang for our buck in todays world. We have done that on everything so far , and we will do this on the transportation area as well.As we get more options , in this area , I'll get the information out .Respectfully , Rick Welch

Played cards with some of you guys on ship, and ran into elements of the 2nd/34th in III Corps during various operations that lst year. Fond memories of your unit. Comments:The registation fee for the 2011 covers the Opry Tickets , River Cruise , and the T-shirt , as well as the Banquet for Association members( $100 ) and spouses ( $80 ). The $40 for children would cover the additional tickets we might need to purchase for them . I hope this clears up any confusion that there might be concerning Reunion costs. If you have any other questions , e-mail me at richardwelch513@comcast.net, or 615-356-9665 . I am looking forward to seeing all of you who can make it , in May.Best Wishes , Rick Welch
