We had just turned off hwy
1, there was a lot of activity to our left in a small village, our
1/5th(mech) and cobras, and a small observation chopper.
Then the Platoon Sgt tank I was driving hit a large land mine on
right side and completely shut down. Blew off several road wheels,
lot of damage and warped the hull. No one was kia (medic
was riding this tank) but I sustained severe head trauma and ear
concussion wounds. |

member of B Company and went on to a different division after the 2/34th
ceased operations in Vietnam. Since he served with the unit, the web
master feels that we should remember him as our brother regardless of unit
in which he was KIA. He served with us and should be honored. |

= J. D. Molpus was actually from another unit in the process of getting a
transfer to 2/34th Armor - Per B. Wester -he
and E. Greer placed Molpus on the outbound chopper. J. Molpus officially
was a Recon Platoon Leader in the 1st of the 5th Mech. - 25th Infantry. |
